Clement wants 23 y/o & £5m gem after Silva

Football FanCast brings you the definitive Rangers transfer round-up ahead of the approaching January window.

After finishing second to Celtic last term, the Gers will be eager to go one better and dethrone their rivals as Scottish Premiership champions, and having not got off to the best start, they parted ways with Michael Beale in October.

In his place, the Gers brought in Philippe Clement, who managed Ligue 1 side AS Monaco as recently as June. The 49-year-old had no Scottish football experience but spent a year down south with Coventry City in the 1990s.

Clement has started reasonably well, hauling the Gers to within touching distance of top spot and guiding them to Viaplay Cup glory. Here are the latest rumours amid the Belgian’s first transfer window at Ibrox…

It is claimed a move could still be on the cards this month for the 22-year-old who is believed to be valued at around £5m.

David Jurasek – Benfica: And as per the same report from Football Scotland, a new name has emerged over the weekend as a potential target at left-back.

It seems as if the Gers may have been beaten by Marseille to the signature of Josh Doig this month, but they have already looked elsewhere for a potential option.

Indeed, the 23-year-old Czech left-back could be a player who could move on from Benfica this month on loan as he looks for more regular football.

Across all competitions, Jurasek has only been able to tally up 478 minutes for Benfica meaning a temporary exit from the Portuguese giants could be on the cards with Rangers said to be interested.

Ridvan-Yilmaz-Rangers

Ridvan Yilmaz: According to reports out of Italy (via Sport Witness), Hellas Verona are now ‘very close’ to signing the left-back from Rangers.

Yilmaz has been involved in a transfer debacle with the Gers interested in signing Josh Doig from the Italian outfit this month.

But with Doig believed to be close to a possible switch to Marseille, it is claimed Yilmaz will be ‘the target’ for the Serie A club who may use the potential revenue from Doig to prise the 22-year-old away from Glasgow.
