In-demand winger, Raiola star, Joao Gomes rumour

The January transfer window is officially open and the winter month of spending is ready to get underway as clubs look to bolster their squads for the remaining games of the campaign.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have had a solid start to the campaign as they sit around mid-table, despite some potential points lost as a result of some controversial VAR decisions.

Nevertheless, Gary O’Neil will have had the opportunity to plan in advance for this winter window following his arrival mid-way through August last year – just weeks before the summer window closed.

And as Wolves potentially look to close the gap on those currently not too far off the European spots, Football FanCast brings you some of the latest stories concerning possible arrivals and departures at Molineux.

It is believed the Midlands club are alongside the likes of West Ham United, Fulham and Brentford in scouting the Dutchman for a number of months now.

Jack Clarke – Sunderland: Wolves are claimed to be keen on potentially providing the former Tottenham Hotspur winger a return to the Premier League this month.

Having left the Lilywhites for Sunderland, Clarke has blossomed in the Championship where he netted his 13th goal of the league campaign on the weekend against Ipswich Town.

And speaking to Football League World, Carlton Palmer has claimed it is inevitable Clarke will leave Wearside amid the interest from the likes of Wolves:

“If Sunderland were to sell in January it would take a bid in excess of £20million, which Southampton and Leicester would be capable of paying. But it just would not make sense for Jack to move to another Championship club in January, when the likes of West Ham, Burnley, Crystal Palace, Wolves, Everton and Bournemouth are all keen to acquire his services,” he said.

“I think it’s inevitable that Jack will move on from Sunderland to a Premier League club, but I think this is more than likely to happen in the summer.”
