CJ Hamilton in action for Blackpool.

AFCON coverage dominates Wednesday’s schedule with the group stages now well underway following the beginning of the tournament last week.

However, fans who are keen to watch some domestic football will have the option of tuning in to Blackpool and Nottingham Forest’s FA Cup Third Round Replay clash at Bloomfield Road with the winner of that clash facing the winner of Bristol City vs West Ham United.

Again, AFCON coverage dominates the schedule on Thursday, with some of the biggest nations in the tournament taking to the pitch later on in the day.

Hosts Ivory Coast will be hoping they can make it two wins out of two when they face one of the tournament favourites in Nigeria.

Having lost their group stage opener, Chris Hughton’s Ghana will face a tough challenge when they take on Egypt, who will also have eyes on their first win of the tournament after Mohamed Salah rescued a point in their opening game.

Although there may not be any Premier League action on our screens just yet, there is still plenty to choose from on Friday with Sunderland and Hull City providing an intriguing offering from the Championship.

Having only recently met on Boxing Day, the two sides were only separated by a late winner from the Black Cats’ top scorer, Jack Clarke. There isn’t much separating either side in the league, either, with just one point between the two clubs, who are both pushing for a spot in the play-off places.

Premier League football returns to our screens on Saturday as Arsenal look to close the gap at the top of the table in the early kick-off against Crystal Palace.

And in the late offering, it is a battle of two struggling sides in Brentford and Nottingham Forest. It has been a worrying week for Forest off the pitch and a defeat will only make things worse, with a points deduction potentially on the cards.

The 2023 Africa Cup of Nations continues, whilst Sky Sports will be offering a free-to-watch Bundesliga 2 clash on their YouTube channel between Schalke 04 and Hamburg.

One game which may catch the eye is Liverpool’s trip to the south coast where they will face Bournemouth. The Cherries have been in fine form this term and the red-hot Dominic Solanke will be looking to find the back of the net against his former side.

There’s plenty else on offer, with European league action as well as AFCON coverage. Fans with a Sky Sports subscription will be able to watch Harry Kane’s attempts to close in on Robert Lewandowski’s Bundesliga goal record when Bayern Munich face Werder Bremen.
